International Entrepreneurship: Theoretical Foundations and Practices (Electronic book text)

, , ,
Over the last decade, international entrepreneurship has become a key emerging issue in international business studies. The subject has both a theoretical and a practical interest. Firms are faced by global competitive pressures and need to develop proactive and innovative responses to the emerging threats and opportunities arising from international markets. Firms that can behave accordingly are defined in this book as IEOs (International entrepreneurial organizations) and the analysis of their resources and capabilities is a key issue on the agenda of managers and entrepreneurs. From a theoretical point of view, a recently growing number of contributions has made the subject very topical and lively but lacking in a common framework. This book treats the topic from its foundations, which are rooted in entrepreneurship, strategic management and international business studies, and proposes an innovative and integrated interpretative framework. The approach is applied to case studies, in order to reconcile the theory and practice of international entrepreneurship in a resources and capabilities based approach.
