The foot police must be, as a rule, strictly prohibited from keeping cattle for such purposes. In a case where a Deputy InspectorFoot police notordinari-General is satisfied that a member of the foot police has ly to keep cattle. private means, sufficient to enable him to keep a horse or pony, permission for its being kept can be given; but such a case would be a special one. 12.
