After retiring from TWA in 1997 James and Jeanette went to Uganda, East Africa, to run an orphanage and childrenas home, and then to Kwajalein, Republic of the Marshall Islands. They now make their home in Kingsland, Texas. James R. Reaves was born in El Paso, Texas, in 1938. He grew up on a ranch near Bandera, Texas, and was a working cowboy on other ranches during his youth. He graduated from Munich American High School, Munich, Germany, in 1957 and married his high school sweetheart, Jeanette Bartlett, in 1959. He retired from Trans World Airlines in Albuquerque, NM, after 38 years of service. He and Jeanette served as short-term, volunteer missionaries at the Good Shepherdas Fold Childrenas Home, Jinja, Uganda, and have done other missionary work in Rwanda and Guyana. James and Jeanette now reside in Kingsland, Texas after retiring again from their jobs on the island of Kwajalein, Republic of the Marshall Islands, in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. James wrote his first story at age 7 and still has it. The title was aThe Indeans.a (As you can tell, spelling never was his strong suit.) Books by James include An African Adventure, written with his wife Jeanette, and Ride to Glory.
