In the Beginning...There Was the Men's Room (Hardcover)

Sam Wellington is a retired founding member of the award winning country music group, The Fabulous Four Guys, who were among the Grand Ole Opry's regular cast of stars for more than thirty-two years. After touring much of the "free world" on their own and with country legends Charley Pride, Hank Williams, Jr., Jimmy Dean, Marty Robbins, Faron Young, Ferlin Husky, and others, Wellington and his career-long partner Brent Burkett decided to retire from performing and settle into more peaceful, unassuming lifestyles. Until his death in October, 2007, Burkett enjoyed tending his thirty-eight acre farm in Fairview, Tennessee, a small community southwest of Nashville. Meanwhile, Wellington became a published author, writing books and short stories while splitting time between his home in Franklin, Tennessee (just south of Nashville), and his winter haven on the Florida Gulf Coast. With the success of his first book - WHO WANTS TO BE A COUNTRY MUSIC STAR - (Authorhouse 1- 888-280-7715) which made the Top 100 charts of most major outlets including Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble, Borders, and others, Wellington decided to write a second book detailing his initial foray into harmony singing with his first group, a high school DOO-WOP quintet called THE JETS. This is a unique story of star-struck kids growing up in Ohio Valley steel towns striving for "golden rungs" on the international show-biz ladder. There are many twists and turns as the group eventually focuses on a transformation to an entirely different style of vocalizing and a name change to become The Four Guys. Wellington, from his leader-spokesman position, tells the story of the group's rise to national prominence through a myriad ofemotions ranging from elation to heartbreak. Plenty of his own special brand of humor is injected all along the way. IN THE BEGINNING.THERE WAS THE MEN'S ROOM is another entertainingly "good read" from an honest author who tells his story as he lived it.and living it took more than thirty-two years
