In April of 2010, in Manhattan, New York, an elaborate party is in full swing for a chief executive officer of one of the leading petroleum companies, which made record profits in the previous year. Suddenly, without warning, an explosion kills everyone up in the third-floor apartment. As a result of the devastation, the family, through legal proceedings, kept the entire third-floor vacant. On April 17, 2013, the anniversary of the explosion, John Toliver, a heavy equipment operator, moves his family into the building.
