Sport Club S o Paulo, also known as S o Paulo, are a Brazilian football team from Rio Grande, Rio Grande do Sul. They competed in the S rie A three times. Sport Club S o Paulo were founded on October 4, 1908, by Adolpho Corr a and other young sportsmen. The club were named S o Paulo after Adolpho Corr a's home city. S o Paulo won their first title, which was the Campeonato Ga cho, in 1933. They won the Copa Bento Gon alves in 1985. The club competed in the S rie A three times. S o Paulo's first participation was in 1979, when they finished in the 42nd place. The club competed again in 1980, finishing in the 41st place. They competed for the last time in 1982, when they ended in the 31st place in the league.
