Sheridan Township is a civil township of Mecosta County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 1,357 at the 2000 census.According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 35.8 square miles (92.6 km ), of which, 34.8 square miles (90.1 km ) of it is land and 1.0 square miles (2.5 km ) of it (2.71%) is water.As of the census of 2000, there were 1,357 people, 519 households, and 387 families residing in the township. The population density was 39.0 per square mile (15.1/km ). There were 921 housing units at an average density of 26.5 per square mile (10.2/km ). The racial makeup of the township was 92.41% White, 3.54% African American, 0.74% Native American, 0.22% Asian, 0.22% from other races, and 2.87% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.33% of the population.
