The Death of the Adored (Paperback)

This mystery story is about Catherine, a charming young, attractive and modest French woman, with European values who marries an American tourist. After arriving in the USA she is introduced to the American significance of money and embraces it aggressively. Catherine divorces her husband, has an affair with a handsome indigent Mexican, but remarries another man who is well-off. Featuring apparel imported from France she opens very successful boutiques. Catherine, because of the respect and wisdom for elderly European values, is a magnet for the older people she meets. After caring for two widows until their death their relatives were enraged to learn that they left Catherine all their considerable assets. The women were elderly so their death apparently could not be considered unnatural or could it have been? Was it murder when Catherine later dies in an auto accident? My background as an art director for forty-five movies including mysteries such as, Rosemary's Baby, The Illustrated Man, and Nuts. I learned a great deal about mystery from director, Roman Polansky and will dedicate my novel to him.
