This book is totally unsuited for the SA market as it concentrates on the US situation only. It refers to US based restaurants and fast food joints, recommends food we have never heard of here and uses non metric measurements. The science behind it is also questionable. Although acknowledging that lowering blood sugar is not about fat, the book constantly recommends low-fat and even fat-free products, although it is generally agreed on that they make people even fatter. There recipes even suggest tinned food and mashed potatoes out of a packet. What a complete waste of good money.
