Doctor Richard Wilson, a USC Physics professor encounters (1935)an old former room mate (Klaus von Alpern) from the Kaiser Wilhelm Institute now down and out. He takes him home and Klaus spins a terrifying near-death encounter he had had on a Southern Mexico volcano. About a year later Klaus is a victim of a hit and run driver and on his death-bed obtains Wilson's promise to investigate his earlier encounter. The investigation takes Wilson on a whirlwind trip through Germany, Finland, England, Gibraltar,North Africa, Panama, and Mexico. He encounters General Manerheim (President of Finland),Chancellor Herman Goring, Anthony Eden, Gene Sibelius, Leon Trotsky, and other luminaries until he finally encounters the Devil worshiper who lives in a radioactive cavern in a Mexican volcano.
