Hart speaks of this when surrounded by foes, and "help far out of sight;" so that I do not think myself a very strong fighter, for "With Christ in the vessel we smile at the storm," and with Christ in the hottest fire ever kindled, or the enemy's arrows lying thick about us, yet with Christ on our side we feel in safeguard: "Not a single shaft can hit, Till the God of love sees fit;" and we also believe, "The feeblest saint shall win the day, Though hell and sin obstruct the way." 'It is indeed a mercy to have a well-grounded peace I am afraid that a false peace will prove the portion of many. A mother "Soothe-up" is in every town, and her children are many; but for you and me to have a peace i hat neither the world nor professor ever had, and which we have often slighted, will make us say, "Why me? Why?" This has escaped my lips by night and day lately, " Why me?" and I may well say again, "Why me?" The grace of God is exceeding abundant to flow so far as to reach this far-off creature.
