UNEP Country Projects - Round II - A Synthesis Report (Paperback)

There has been an increased interest and concern over the potential positive and negative impacts of trade liberalization, particularly on the environment and the social fabric of developing countries where trade has grown most rapidly. This document summarizes studies in six countries commissioned by United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), the countries are: Argentina, China, Ecuador, Nigeria, Senegal and Tanzania. The studies focus on their trade-related environmental problems and the social and economic implications they have on their diverse economic sectors.
