In sub-table A, in addition to the establishment numbers, the numbers given in the second group to the various products of each establishment are shown. In sub-tables to N, in addition to the product numbers, the numbers given to the establishments in which the bottles were produced are also shown. It should be borne in mind that the numbers in each of the first nine sub-tables exactly correspond with the numbers in every other sub-table of that group, the figures for one establishment being given opposite the same number in each sub-table. Similarly, the product numbers correspond in the sub-tables of the second group. In sub-tables G, H, and J, such items of cost in one pound of glass are shown, for each establishment, as are common to all varieties of H. Ex. 232 18 green glass bottles produced; these costs per pound aro the bases of all such cost- per gross, shown in sub-tables to N, as are not dependent upon the particular variety of bottles produced. The expenditures for packing-boxes have been omitted from this tabulation for the reason that no consistent basis for the calculation of such cost could be obtained. The boxes in which green glass bottles are shipped are nearly all returned to the factory and used over and over again, and the expenditures for new boxes and the repairing of old ones arc so variable at different periods that it has been deemed inexpedient to include them.
