Ho says of him: " My conceit of liis person was never increased towards him by his place or honours; but I have, and do reverence him for the greatness that was only proper to himself, in that he seemed to me ever by his worth one of the greatest men and more worthy of admiration that had been in many ages. In his adversity I ever prayed that God would give him strength, for greatness ho could not want." Lord Bacon died in 1626, and was buried in St. Michael's Church, in St. Albans. Christian Ken. WELL-DOING, THE END OF THE NEW CREATION. From the Anniversary Sermon to Teachers, ly the Rev. William. Landels. Well-doing, according to the teaching of Scripture, is the end of the new creation. We are " created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that wo should walk in them." How emphatic the testimony thus borne to their value How completely his claim to Christianity is disposed of in whom they are not found God first ordains their performance, and then creates us anew in order to secure the fulfilment of His purpose.
