Jacob of Orl ANS (Paperback)

Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Jacob of Orl ans (died September 3, 1189) was a noted Jewish scholar, considered by many to be one of the most learned men of his age. Jacob was a tosafist in Orl ans, France, who studied under Rabbenu Tam. He remained in Orl ans until at least 1171, leaving at a later date to go to London, most likely to become a teacher. Jacob was killed during the antisemitic riots that swept through London during the coronation of King Richard I. The Jews, also known as the Jewish people, are a nation and an ethnoreligious group, originating in the Israelites or Hebrews of the Ancient Near East. The Jewish ethnicity, nationality, and religion are strongly interrelated, as Judaism is the traditional faith of the Jewish nation. Converts to Judaism, whose status as Jews within the Jewish ethnos is equal to those born into it, have been absorbed into the Jewish people throughout the millennia.
