Caledonia: The Last of the Free (Electronic book text)

Caledonia, modern day Scotland , September 83 AD. At the battle of Mons Graupius the Roman army led by General Agricola fights to conquer the last remaining "free" tribes on the island of Britannia. In the debris of battle a young Caledonian boy surrenders and gives away a secret that has the potential to change Roman strategy in the north forever. Marcus, a Roman cavalry soldier is ordered to investigate and promptly disappears into the remote and wild northern hills. In Rome his estranged father, Corbulo sets out to find his only son and bring him back home. On his long and lonely 1500 mile journey to the barbarian north, Corbulo must use all his stamina and cunning to survive. Forces are at work to thwart his progress and soon Corbulo finds himself crossing paths with a vengeful druid and a murderous Greek Merchant both whom have an interest in Marcus' fate and whereabouts.
