High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! The following is the standings of the Azadegan League's 2009/10 football season. This is the 2nd rated football competition in Iran after the Persian Gulf Cup. It will be divided into two phases: the regular season, played from 22 September 2009 to May 2010, and the playoff phase from May to June 2010. The league will also be composed of 28 teams divided into two divisions of 14 teams each, whose teams will be divided geographically. Teams will play only other teams in their own division, once at home and once away for a total of 26 matches each. In each division, one team are promoted to Persian Gulf Cup, and one team enter into a play-off and two teams are relegated to 2nd Division. In total, the league promotes 3 teams to Persian Gulf Cup and relegates 4 teams to 2nd Division.
