A body is found by the side of a railway, stripped naked. Nobody can identify the victim. Hours before the Great War comes to an end, with an armistice agreed upon and no need for any more bloodshed, a major sends an entire platoon on a suicidal mission. Two men are found dead in Camden Town. Some time after the war has ended, a handful of survivors find themselves connected by a bizarre series of events. They may be driven by different goals - seeking revenge, or answers, or treasure - but all find themselves drawn into the same mystery, and all are about to learn the same thing: there is no such thing as coincidence.
