Bladder cancer was first identified as an industrial disease in 1935 and by the 1950s specific chemicals had been officially pinpointed as the cause of the problem. The chemical industry, however, has continued to expose its workforce to these chemicals, causing untold suffering and many deaths. Alastair Hay contrasts publicly available scientific and medical writings with internal company documents, which show what the industry itself knew and what it did not make public. He also demonstrates that UK government officals colluded in the cover-up of facts.
