Alice Avonlea, born in post-war Germany in December of 1953,
struggled with her gender identity in her early childhood, being
born as a boy. After trying to live up to what was expected of her
being born in the wrong gender, her journey went from athe menacea
to motorcycle gang, from Army to engineer, from father of three
girls to her craving to be a mother herself. She experienced the
ups and downs and emotional roller coaster of living through a
second puberty introduced by hormones. Disclosing her gender
dysphoria to her superiors at work, she found out that prejudice
still exists in the work environment as she was terminated and
replaced. Alice includes some tips on how to make your journey more
