As the end of the school year approaches, we look back, if we are wise, and take stock of our successes and failures as a fraternity. The first question we should ask is this: "What is Alpha Chi's excuse for existing?" We all know the answer if we stop to think, but have we stopped to think very often during the past year? If any member can truthfully say that she has received no real impetus to good work and a broader life from her fraternity relationship, one failure is scored against us. There is a flaw somewhere in the chapter life and, as a chapter is neither better nor worse than the members who compose it, this brings us to a consideration of our method of choosing those members. It is the part of wisdom to lay our plans now--because, when the September "rush" commences we shall have no time. Therefore a few don'ts may be in order. Don't choose a girl merely because she wears good clothes and creates an impression wherever she goes. Some of our best beloved sisters have been unassuming in appearance.
