Missionary Lives: The Wolff & Van Someren Families: Missionaries In 19th Century India (Electronic book text)

The extended Van Someren and Wolff families, of whom George Pope was a prominent member, were deeply involved in the Christian missions in 19th C India, as were subsequent generations. The caste dispute caused severe tensions in the family. This 1939 collected memoir by Amalie Beck, newly translated into English, tells the story from first-hand accounts of the women involved. Dick Wolff has edited it, adding photographs, many footnotes and other complementary material.
