He told about the steady growth of the United Mine Workers' Union and gave a brief history of past strikes. He gave the demands of the miners in the present strike and some of the opinions of the public and operators. Resolution No. 12, Revision Of Mining Laws Whereas, there is now before Congress a bill providing for revision of the mining laws for the alleged benefit of the prospector and operator of the West, and, Whereas, that measure has already been opposed by the Northwest Mining Association in a resolution and able brief, prepared by Mr. Frank A. Ross, former president of that association. Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved, by the Northwest Mining Convention in 27th annual assembly, this, the 17th day of February, 1922, that it endorses every word in such resolution and brief as prepared by Mr. Ross, and adopts them both in tola as the expression of this convention. And, Be It Further Resolved, that, in answer to criticism of the Northwest Mining Association, in a certain eastern publication, alleging that the association has, in part, reversed itself...
