Gabriel/Legion/Priest (DVD)

, , , , , , , , , , , ,
Triple bill of fast-paced action movies. In 'Gabriel' (2007) fallen angel Sammael (Dwaine Stevenson) has claimed Purgatory, the halfway point between Earth and Heaven, in the name of darkness. His empire seems secure until the arrival of Gabriel (Andy Whitfield), the last of Heaven's seven archangels. Gabriel is young, strong and a great warrior. His bravery and skill threaten to decimate Sammael's evil henchmen and redeem Jade (Samantha Noble), the lost angel with the heart of gold. But Sammael has one last devilish trick up his sleeve: a secret from the past that has the power to destroy Gabriel forever. In 'Legion' (2010), a supernatural action fantasy, a vengeful God sends a legion of angels down to Earth to bring about the apocalypse. Humanity's only hope lies with a group of strangers trapped in an out-of-the-way American desert diner, including Bob (Dennis Quaid), Jeep (Lucas Black) and Percy (Charles S. Dutton). Fortunately, the humans have some help - the fallen Archangel Michael (Paul Bettany) who attempts to spur them on to fight back. 'Priest' (2011), a post-apocalyptic sci-fi action thriller based on the TokyoPop comic by Min-Woo Hyung, is set in a world torn apart by centuries of war between humans and vampires. The film follows a once-legendary warrior, Priest (Bettany), who now lives in obscurity in a Church-ruled dystopian city in the desert. When his niece, Lucy (Lily Collins), is abducted by a pack of murderous vampires, Priest joins forces with Lucy's part-vampire lover, Hicks (Cam Gigandet), and a former Warrior Priestess (Maggie Q) and sets out to save her before she is turned into one of the undead.
