The book involved the study of impact of globalization on Fast Moving Consumer Goods Industries in Maharashtra state (India). For this purpose FMCG industries, which are operating & selling their products in Maharashtra state, are considered. As data was not available at regional level, data on all India basis considered. At the outset of the study the evolution of process of globalization discussed, for this, periods since 3000 BC to till date has been divided into three stages, that are ancient, medieval and modern and various incidences that shape the process of globalization agued accordingly. In the subsequent chapter impact of globalization on Indian industries as a whole and then on Fast Moving Consumer Goods industries has been studied. Further for the ease of the study the sub segment of FMCG industries took it into consideration.For the purpose of evaluation data regarding Sales, Profit before Tax & Income (PBIT), Profit after Tax (PAT), Export, Import, Internal & External Environment, Trends in FDI and production of total 78 FMCG industries are considered and the data of the these variables mull over since the inception of globalization that is from 1991 to 2008.
