Looking for a Thread (Electronic book text)

When we reflect on our lives we find threads of continuity despite many changes, and a core spirit that doesn't change. Each of us has "threads of strength" that explain us and maintain us. My own life has been largely centred round family and teaching, and it has at the same time been very varied and full of colour. I have collected family anecdotes and my own poems and paintings, cartoons and illustrations to put this account together. At the end of the exercise I wrote my poem "Threads of Strength" as I felt I had come to understand better how I tick, and why I haven't changed. I am still "the same old Story" as I once inadvertently told a class of unruly secondary pupils! I hope that you as a reader will find this book entertaining, and possibly use the concept of your own "threads of strength" as a way of looking back.
