Sicilian Love Story (Paperback)

Sicilian Love Story is the survival of a family of four, escaping the vendetta of a half-brother in Corleone. Charlie Cascio escapes with his family and comes to East Harlem in New York City. An apartment on East 107th street awaits him. The neighborhood is divided into various segments of Sicilian towns. Within days of his arrival, Charlie is given a job by the capo of the block, Sam Montana. 17 year-old Paula Cascio captures the eye and heart of the capo. Yet the boundaries of honor, age, and polarized life styles keep them apart. Paula embraces America and its promise for a better life. She has a rude awakening as she encounters the prejudice against the Sicilians. Ironically, she falls in love with an Irish cop, Brian Mulligan, while waves of mob wars, police brutality, and murder surround them. In this uncertain climate, Paula Cascio is discouraged and sees no end to the emotional struggles of her life. The story is unpredictable and keeps the reader emotionally engaged in the struggles of this family. This book is the first novel of my first trilogy which is being published last.
