If you would pay attention to the question you would not make so many foolish objections. Mr. Stewart: And weighing from 1,500 pounds up, he says. The Court: The objection is overruled. Mr. Kiefer: That is exactly the way I put the question. The Court: You may answer the question. Mr. Stewart: Exception. Q. (Question read.) "And have you ever noticed the manner in which the loading took place on those occasions?" Mr. Kiefer: That is the question to which the objection is made. A. Oh, yes, I have stood over the hatches and took in this business, took in the rails myself. Q. And have you acted as gangway man on those occasions? A. Yes, sir, acted as gangway man on it. Q. Now, will you tell us whether on those occasions it was customary to load one or two rails at a time in the sling? Mr. Stewart: That is objected to as incompetent and inadmissible, from this witness. Objection overruled; exception for plaintiff. Mr. Kiefer: You may answer, Mr. Mullens. A.-It is all according to the size of the hatches, in most pl-aces you work on, sir, the load you will Defendant's Witness, David M nllens, Direct take in, and on the steam you have got to lift this in.
