We have no data on no load operation, but this depends entirely upon the mechanical elficiency of the engine and is usually about 25 per cent of the consumption at full load. The following data is taken from a series of very exhaustive tests made in the laboratories in the University of Michigan, that appeared in THE GAS ENGINE in February, 1917. Taking the consumption of fuel at full load as a basis or 100 per cent, the consumption at fractional loads per horsepower delivered was as follows: Summary of Statistics of Crude Petroleum for March, 1920, and Preceeding Months Upper diagram monthly fluctuations in average daily rate of (a) United States production of petroleum plus imports of mineral crude oil. (b) Total consumption of domestic and imported crude oil including exports. (0) United States production of petroleum, pre liminary data. (d) Domestic crude petroleum delivered to con sumers. Lower diagram showing monthly fluctuations in stocks of domestic crude petroleum held on the last day of months indicated: The curve for 1920 shows fluctuations in stocks held by pipe-line and other marketing companies. The curve for 1919 shows fluctuations in stocks held by pipe-line and other marketing companies and also by refineries receiving oil directly from the wells. Such refinery stocks in December amounted to 1,115,000 barrels. Production.
