David's petition to return to Earth is approved. Dawnstar and her crew transit the spatial anomaly to Earth's solar system but arrive in the year 2000 instead of 2572. David decides to explore his ancestors' home.During these explorations, he meets and falls in love with Lisa Heikes. Their relationship blossoms as David struggles to blend into Earth society. He reveals his true identity to her, tells her of Earth's impending Destruction, and begs her to return to the New Federation of Worlds with him. Lisa agrees. Dawnstar returns safely to New Federation space.
