Roger-Arnould Rivi re (1930, Tarare, Rh ne - 1959, Lyon) was a French poet. Despite not being unpopular among other people, he was disgusted with his looks (especially lips). His poetry both shows and hides this "ugliness." He was an admirer of Dylan Thomas and also Cesare Pavese, whose book he held in his hand when he committed suicide by poisoning himself with gas. Cesare Pavese (Italian pronunciation: t e za e pa ve ze]) (9 September 1908 - 27 August 1950) was an Italian poet, novelist, literary critic and translator; he is widely considered among the major authors of the 20th century in his home country.
