Excerpt: ... SCENE IV. Bayeux. A Room in the Castle. (Enter Malet and Ulf Of Dorchester.) Malet. My Lord Bishop is come to court? Ulf. I look the Duke shall atone me with the great Earl, to the regaining of my see of Dorchester. Let me snuff the wind of things at Bayeux. Yet in these same Breton wars, wherein Harold hath saved so many of our captains pulled from the freshet, --in these wars, I say, to see such men stand side by side, begets desire to set them face to face. Ulf. May I have the picking of that feast, to find my lost bishopstool in it Lanfranc and Anselm, both of Italy, shall such cloistered crooks taste preferment? Anselm is made Prior of Bec, while to Caen Lanfranc is translated. Malet. Such, with William's good-will, shall sit in Saint Augustine's chair. And, for your bishopstool, I think it hath g..
