Netwatcher (Large print, Paperback, Large type / large print edition)

BC Starkson, blinded by Retinitis Pigmentosa, graduated with his Masteras degree in 1983, and he was ready to work and advocate for the blind. In 1984, he was hired as a vocational rehab counselor with the State of Florida Division of Blind Services, and he helped many blind people obtain employment. In 1987, he was bitten by the technology bug, and one year later he began his career, training both sighted and blind people to use and apply Braille, large print, and speech computer access technology to enhance their lives. In 1995, he demonstrated computer access technology for the blind to a professor from the Para University in Belem, Brazil, and the professor asked BC to come to Brazil and train his college students to use this great technology. BC accepted the job, and this began the questions in his mind. What if a cocaine lord uses a computer to control his world, and what if that cocaine lord went blind, and what if the cocaine lord heard about a computer geek that could help him maintain control over his world? This was the seed that sprouted into Netwatcher, and Boyd and Kristal Carson were created. In Netwatcher, you will find out about computer access technology for the blind, blind people, and maybe a little about your perceptions of blind people and the gifts they have to offer.
