Invalided from the Police Force, Chas Barker, is recovering when he is offered the chance of employment in the pub and club trade. His only knowledge of pubs is from the customer side of the bar but he soon discovers skulduggery abounds. After finding himself without work for a second time, he decides to buy his own pub.
