Please Adjust Your Dress (Paperback)

Barry Morris was born in Walkden, now part of Greater Manchester, in January 1942. His arrival put paid to the New Year's Day party which was taking place at his parents' house and Bert, his father, struggled manfully through a snow storm to bring the mid-wife to the house to attend to Eva. He was educated at St. Paul's Infants and Junior Schools in Walkden and subsequently Bolton School. He had little sporting prowess except in the swimming pool, which occupied most of his waking day from 1955 to 1960. No wonder he was an academic desert who struggled to gain five O Levels. Many felt he was fortunate to have gained any! His collection of humorous anecdotes and stories have been accumulated over several decades. Whilst ninety-five per cent of the stories are totally fictitious, the remaining five per cent are, or at least might have been, true. The problem with becoming older, is you suddenly can't quite remember which stories are real, which are totally false and which might be real if you could only recall how they came about! One thing is certain. The purpose of committing this collection to paper is to amuse, without hopefully offending anyone.
