There are many things that can go wrong between casting a show and Opening Night. Finding a body in the second row is just one of them. The old Regent Theatre needs repairs, its future under threat when developers gain community support to build a shopping mall on the site. Then, as if Jessica's life wasn't complicated enough, the police officer heading the investigation begins to take an unusual interest in her. Jessica pulls the backstage team together to keep the show on the boards, despite sinister threats that escalate to physical attacks on both her and her beloved theatre.
