North Carolina Libraries and Librarians Miss Pell has been appointed an assistant in the Greensboro Public Library. Miss Serena Bailey, Atlanta 1918, joined the staff of the Greensboro Public Library September 15th. Miss Myrtle King, assistant librarian of the State Library, was married September 25th to Mr. H. S. Banks. Miss Marguerite Higgs, Simmons 1918, has succeeded Miss Louise Richardson as librarian of Meredith College, Raleigh. Mrs. J. T. Bennett is acting librarian of the Rockingham Public Library during the absence of the librarian, Mrs. Lucy P. Russell. Miss Rachel A. Harris, New York State Library 1917, has been appointed assistant in the library of the University of North Carolina. Mr. Shelton Houston for many years assistant librarian of the Greensboro Public Library, resigned to accept a position in the Ordnance Department. Mr. W. S. Wilson, Legislative Reference Librarian, died December 18th after a brief illness. Mr. Wilson had been Legislative Reference Librarian since May 1, 1915. On September 18th the city commissioners voted an appropriation of $4,500 for the Greensboro Public Library. This is an increase of $1,200 a year. The...
