The Securities Department reports that, in spite of the unusually dull market conditions which have existed during the past month, there has been a demand for securities of companies under Stone & Webster management on the part of those who purhcase for permanent investment and who realize that many of the more seasoned securities can be bought on a basis not obtainable under normal conditions. The severe decline in the majority of outside securities has naturally been reflected to some extent in the Stone & Wdbster securities, making it possible to purchase on a particularly attractive basis, such bonds and stocks as the following: Dallas Electric Corporation bonds, Eastern Texas Electric Company bonds, Public Service Investment Company preferred, Northern Texas Electric Company preferred and common, Galveston-Houston Electric Company preferred, Mississippi River Power Company preferred stock and bonds, Puget Sound Traction, Light & Power Company common, and Tampa Electric Company capital stock. Mr. Stone is spending the summer at his farm at Plymouth, Mass. Mr. Webster spent a day in Keokuk on June 28 and returned to his summer home at Quisett, Mass., on July 3. He has chartered for the season the steam yacht "Niagara IV," and will use her for week-end trips during the summer. Mr. F. S. Pratt has been camping with his family in the Skagit River Valley, Washington. Mr. F. P. Royce has visited Chicago, Paducah, Keokuk and Houghton, Michigan, in company with Mr. H. T. Edgar. Mr. C. F. Wallace has been at Keokuk recently. He finds that matters connected with the Mississippi River Power Company are engaging his full time and will therefore not be able to take his usual trip to Europe. Mr. A. S. Pratt made a ten days' trip...
