Excerpt: Andrew County is a county located in the U.S. state of Missouri. As of 2000, the population is 16,492. Its county seat is Savannah. The county was organized in 1841 and named for lawyer Andrew Jackson Davis. The county along with Buchanan and DeKalb counties in Missouri and Doniphan County, Kansas, is included in the St. Joseph Metropolitan Statistical Area, which had an estimated population of 122,306 in 2006. It is currently part of the 12th district of the Missouri State Senate, currently represented by Brad Lager, and the 28th district of the Missouri House of Representatives, currently represented by Robert Schaaf.
