Excerpt: Triangle TV and Triangle Stratos are sister public service television networks in New Zealand. Both are operated by non-profit trusts, share transmission and production facilities and share news, regional and cultural programming. Triangle TV is Auckland's regional free-to-air public service station, and Triangle Stratos is a nationwide Freeview, Sky TV and TelstraClear cable digital television network. Since 1 August 1998 Triangle TV, a non-profit trust, has operated a public service station on the Auckland region's Government-owned non-commercial UHF channel. The trust broadcasts via three free-to-air UHF transmitters at Waiatarua in Auckland, Pine Hill in North Shore and Remuera. It also operated an almost identical public service station on the Wellington region's channel between between 25 August 2006 and 31 March 2009, which was run from Auckland using an IP link provided by Government-owned broadcast services company Kordia. As a public station, Triangle TV broadcasts programs produced by a variety of organisations, in a variety of languages, for a variety of ethnic and faith communities. The station acts independently from all programme providers, which they claims means they 'cannot be controlled by individuals or groups with their own agendas' . Because of this, timeslots are sold on a first-come first-served basis and the station offers editorial freedom on content.
