Excerpt: Joachim von Rohr (January 23, 1678 September 9, 1757) was a Lieutenant Colonel for the Swedish Empire and Commandant of the Dalar fortress. He participated in the Battle of Poltava and was captured and held as a prisoner in Siberia. Joachim was born on January 23, 1678 (old style) in Sweden. He was the son of Hans Christoffer von Rohr (16261700) who was killed in action during the Battle of Narva; and Anna Catharina Cronman. Anna was the daughter of Hans Detterman Cronman. Joachim married Catharina Charlotta Klingenberg (16801758) on February 4, 1699 (old style) in Sweden. Together they had the following children: Anna Elisabeth von Rohr (17001744) who married Anders rbom (16751740) who was a Captain in the Swedish Army; Lucia Dorotea von Rohr (1702); Lunetta von Rohr II (17041764) who married Gustaf Adolf Clodt (16921738) a Baron; Helena von Rohr (17061780); Hans Christoffer von Rohr III (17081790); Brita Maria Von Rohr (17111762) who married Herman Ross (17071777); Magnus Joakim Von Rohr (17101722); Catharina Charlotta Von Rohr (17141784) who married Jacob Daniel Mether (17181769); Christina Dorothea Von Rohr (17171800); Gustaf Johan Von Rohr (17231739); and Maria Margareta von Rohr (17251778) who married Gustaf Mannerstedt (17131756).
