The 2004 Edition of the tournament featured the same 4 teams as the 2003 tournament: Calgary Storm, Montreal Impact, Toronto Lynx and Vancouver Whitecaps in addition to the expansion Edmonton Aviators. Each team played 2 matches (home and away) against each other team. In each match, 3 points are awarded for a win, 1 point is awarded for a draw, and 0 points are awarded for a loss. The four teams are ranked according to the total number of points obtained in all matches.
