The following action was taken by the Board of Councilmen February 5, 1902, viz.: (C. C. P., 1902, page 39.r.) Respectfully submitted, CHARLES F. SUSDORF, City Clerk. Received, filed, and amendment concurred in. MARCH 17, 1902.--C. C. P., PACE 722. By Alderman Holmes: Whereas, Under Section 405 of the Revised Charter the City may widen, straighten, enlarge, clear from obstruction, dredge, deepen, and put and maintain in a navigable condition the Buffalo River, the Black Rock Harbor, the lake, the basin, slips, and other waters in the City, and defray the expense or any part of it, out of the General Fund or by local assessment. Whereas, Petitioner N. C. Newerf is owner of lands on said river and is desirous of building dock thereon, Resolved, That said harbor be extended in and up the Buffalo River to the easterly boundary line of said petitioner's property, of same depth as provided in resolution recently adopted by Your Honorable Body for improving said harbor. Referred to the Committee on Wharves and Harbors. MARCH 24, 1902.-). C. P., PAGE 748. From the Department of Law: -Buffalo, March 24, 1902. On the 3d day of February, 1902, the Committee on Wharves and Harbors of the Board of Aldermen made a report upon the matter of abating floods in South Buffalo, wherein the Department of Public Works and the Law Department were authorized to enter into negotiations and make arrangements with the various parties owning lands affected by the improvement as proposed by the plan submitted by the Department of Public Works, for the purpose of ascertaining the probable cost, expense, and the necessary steps to be taken in carrying out of such plan.
