Cobblestone Architecture (Paperback)

,
This volume describes the cobblestone houses of the Rochester and Monroe County country seen by Schmidt in his travels throughout New York. Further study led him to the conclusions set down herein as to the extent and the limitations of what may be called the cobblestone house area. He examined not only the houses themselves, but when possible read into their history, searched through old family records, and in some instances, spoke with persons whose memories carried back to the years when the cobblestone houses were being built. Wonderfully illustrated.
