The Passion of Joan of Arc - (1928) (French, DVD)

Carl Theodor Dreyer directs this classic silent 1928 film depicting the trial and execution of Joan of Arc. Following her heroic role in the Hundred Years War, Frenchwoman Joan of Arc (Maria Falconetti) has been captured by her enemies, the English. Placed on trial on trumped up charges of heresy, she defends herself bravely from the machinations of accusers that include Bishop Pierre Cauchon (Eugene Silvain) and Jean d'Estivet (André Berley).

Can she stay true to her beliefs while battling to save her life?
