Changing English, National Curriculum Key Stage 3 (Paperback)

Written in the light of the National Curriculum proposals for Key Stage 3, this book emphasizes an active engagement with language. The projects can be chosen at random, while the skills sessions can be used whenever more practice is needed. The book is arranged in two parts, projects (of which there are six) and skills sessions. Within the projects, pupils are encouraged to help each other with drafting and the process of different kinds of writing and the skills sessions can be used either with the projects or independently. The skills sessions examine specific skills such as sentence punctuation, use of adjectives, scanning and grammatical points and offer a basis for assessment and for students to assess their own work.
