Potential Techniques for the Assessment of Joints in Water Distribution Pipelines (Paperback)

This research report identifies and documents key problems associated with the failure of joints in water distribution pipelines and reports on the performance of existing and emerging techniques for the location, condition assessment and repair of these joints. Details are provided on techniques that could be utilized for the inspection and condition assessment of a wide variety of joint types. The study also identified and investigated potential methods to repair joints without the expense and disruption resulting from open-trench excavation. A decision support tool was developed to assist with the selection of appropriate technologies and is included on the CD.
