Some of the Branham followers have elevated him to a near god status, and on the other hand, the Branham despisers give no credence to his "spearhead" role as the "natural" fulfillment of Malachi 4:5 - the one appointed to the role of "closing down of an age." Both of these groups have done as severe damage to the cause of "this gospel of the kingdom" as would be the case had either position over-influenced or under-influenced the pertinence of the focal ministry of John the Baptist.
