1 Peter 5:8, "Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour." These words, shared to us by Peter, present a frightening description of Satan as a ferocious lion waiting for the opportunity to destroy us, his prey. This is an alarming reality and the moment we allow the devil to gain a foothold, he begins a path of destruction into our lives. The devil's pursuit of our destruction is driven by a supreme hatred of God. He prides himself in the influence of our sin and knows that sin hurts not only ourselves, but God as well. Satan knows what we as Christians have to gain when our walk in this life comes to an end, for he threw it all away in his own pride and arrogance. In his task to destroy us, he is not alone, he will use every demon, every device of our own weaknesses and every opportunity we forward him to do so. This book exposes every opportunity I gave Satan in my own life and the resources he used to ultimately try and destroy me. It was by the grace of God and the many ways God uses people in our lives to fulfill His Will for us that I not only survived, but developed a life-long relationship with Him and renounced the devil forever. This is a book of hope, for no matter how great the shadow we walk in, there is always a casting light, superior to its reflection. It is in that light God can be found and hope and be restored for your salvation. So be alert and strong of faith, for the devil is always lurking and waiting for any opportunity to devour.
