Cyber Crime Deep Inside Africa... - Securing Your Social and Financial Identity with Knowledge (Paperback)

Every human society has criminals. Cheats, who feel they are smart and swift. They want to live a good life, but will not work hard to get a good life. Rather, they lie in waiting for others who have worked hard to earn and take advantage of. They are thieves, liars, and strong hearted people. These criminals are every where. Even on the internet. They have failed to respect international border lines of divide, and have refused to give themselves a sense of dignity. Call him a hacker, cracker, scammer, fraudster, con artist, 419er, yahoo yahoo, Gee, Sakawa and any other alias, the cyber criminal is a man of low life. Growing up in Africa as a kid was fun. There was no internet then and computers were not for everyone. Yet I enjoyed every bit of those years. Then, we were not branded as criminals, neither was Lagos the city i aspired to live in labeled as "a big dirty city where everything is crime" (that's not true anyway). As a Nigerian, and an African, I feel shamed by the actions of a fraction of my country and continent men who have sold out our dignity and pride as a people so cheap to the international community for a few thousand Dollars, Pounds or Euros which they lavish on things that are perishable. Today, there is a perception the world has about West Africans and especially Nigerians: corrupt and criminally minded people I don't and won't blame anyone with such perception, because we have painted that image of ourselves. It rubs off on everyone, the criminal and non criminal alike. But the character can not be generalized. So for those of us who cannot join the bandwagon of these criminals and are tired of the disgrace, humiliation and embarrassment they are causing us, we are set to expose them (That is the primary aim and purpose of this book). What do these criminals know that you don't know? A lot of times, you wonder who is behind those thousand and one spam email messages that hit your inbox on daily basis, how they work, how they get your personal information and so much more. You wonder why even with the huge publicity aimed at informing and educating the international cyber community about the fraudulent cyber activities emanating from Nigeria and West Africa, so many people still get swindled. You wonder how they get away with their scheme without begin caught... you just wonder how they operate. The truth is this; "it is complicated." The next few chapters of this book will handle that (from the Nigerian and West African perspective only) effectively. Prepare your mind to travel deep inside Africa, to the streets where these criminals ply their trade. It promises to be an educative and informative journey mixed with fun. You will not have regrets you read this.
